What to be Concerned in the Road Marking Operation Work to Ensure Perfect Lines?
There are many factors to influence the effects of marking lines by the road marking machines.Here listed the several most important points to be concerned from preparation sectors to the operating sectors.
1.The road surface condition
Check the road surface to make sure that there is no water, oil and bulges on the road.Clean the road surface with a cleaning machine and an air blower. If the roads need to be coated with the primer, the coating area should be slightly wider than the marking line, the coating amount of 8m/kg, until the solvent is completely volatilized,the thermoplastic paint can be used for the construction work.
2.Do the preparatory work before the construction, measuring the marking line orientation to mark the lines accurately.Use the auxiliary machines such as waterline machine.
3.Check the machine before the construction,check the following aspects particularly:
(1)Diesel engine, cooling water level, oil level, fuel oil level;
(2)Road marking machine, coater (scraping and spraying are required to adjusted according to the thickness and line width), glass beads dispenser (check the uniformity and whether the quantity of glass beads is sufficient, and whether the pipe is blocked)
4.The road temperature of the paint
Monitor the temperature and road temperature at any time, make sure the construction temperature must be higher than the outdoor temperature of 3 ℃ or more, when the road temperature below 9 ℃, cautious about the construction!
The heating temperature of the Preheater should be based on the weather conditions during construction, when the temperature is too low, increase the heating temperature appropriately. When the temperature is too high, the heating temperature should be reduced.
5.The heating temperature of the paint by the Preheater
Do not overheat the paint in the Preheater or the construction vehicle, keep paint temperature not exceed 220 ℃! Be cautious about the operation when thermometer fail to work!
Stir up the paint evenly in the Preheater, and maintain the required viscosity and temperature, for that if the temperature is too high,the paint will get too thin,and long time heating will make the color of paint get changed.After the paint melting,keep stirring up for about 10 minutes to discharge the paint.
6.The blades of the Die Shoe on the Striper
Rear blade: make the surface of the lines smooth
Side blade: make the line edges clear and tidy
The thickness of marking lines can be changed by adjusting the position of rear blade on the die shoe. The closer to road surface the rear blade is, the thinner marking line is, likewise, the farther to road surface the rear blade is, the thicker marking line is. Attention to ensure the consistency of height of two sides.
Frequently clean up the remaining paint at the bottom of rear blade of die in order to avoid the leakage of paint and coarse surface of marking lines due to the gap of blade.
7.The walking speed of the Striper
The line thickness depends on the walking speed of the striper.The higher the walking speed gets, the thinner the paints will be covered onto the roads and the lines service life will be longer.Otherwise, the slower the walking speed gets, the thicker the paints will be and the lines service life will be shorter.
